For many clients, TransCity and its siters agency EtnoMedia have done different kinds of projects. Here are some examples:

NS Reizigers - Netherlands Railways

An interview for a number of ethnic and cross cultural media was arranged with one of the directors of NS Reizigers, the Netherlands Railways. NS Reizigers wanted to present itself as an attractive employer for the Asian, African and South American Dutch.TransCity Interviews and photo shootings with employees from different backgrounds, such as Moroccan, Surinamese and Turkish, were also organized. Publications were achieved in a number of media, including some Benelux editions of Turkish dailies. On the Moroccan-Dutch internet portal maghreb.nl an advertorial was published with a very high click through ratio.

KPN Telecom

TransCity has done a number of activities for KPN Telecom in order to promote a new calling card as well as a new 0900 phone number for low cost international calls. A large online campaign was implemented for the new 0900 number. Both ethnic and cross cultural websites were used. Although the core message was focussed on low cost international calls, the examples mentioned in the banner ads depended on the main target groups of the various websites.

Amongst the other projects were street promotions for the calling card for the Moroccan community (together with Tawasol), advertisements and promotions for different communities, including the Chinese community, and many other projects.

Lotto

In cooperation with Eigen Fabrikaat, TransCity has developed English, Turkish and Arab language leaflets for Lotto, the Netherlands National Lottery.

Ferring

In cooperation with Porter Novelli, the results of a research amongst the Turkish, Moroccan, Surinamese and Antillean communities on a specific health issue for children, were brought to the attention of the ethnic and cross cultural press. Athough it was not a high interest health issue, various interesting media reports were realised in both a number of Turkish and Surinamese print media, some ethnic radio channels, local television as well a a number of ethnic and cross cultural websites.

Riagg Rijnmond Client Council

Riagg Talen 2.JPGMental health care and prevention, including consultation and advice, are the core tasks of Riagg Rijnmond. Before any treatment, Riagg Rijnmond first explains the client’s rights before, during and after treatment.

Since good health care can be seen as a basic human right, while a great number of patients of Riagg Rijnmond do not have a good command of the Dutch language, the Riagg Rijnmond Client Council felt it essential to publish information on the rights of clients in different languages. As a result, TransCity has produced brochures in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Servo-Croation, Arabic, Persian, Chinese, Papiamentu and of course Dutch, while an audio cd was produced in Tamazight (for the Moroccan community).

SEN Magazine

TransCity has assisted SEN Magazine in sharpening its positioning as a new women’s lifestyle magazine in the Netherlands. Starting from the intended core target audience of Turkish-Dutch women, SEN has extended its core target audience to Mediterranean women in The Netherlands and Belgium and even the wider public.

SEN has since become the first magazine in the Netherlands to start from an ‘ethnic’ concept and to develop towards a magazine with a targeted but broader audience and a more mainstream feel.
