TransCity’s sister agency EtnoMedia has developed a series of online ethnic and cross cultural community platforms. It enables the various ethnic and cultural communities in and outside of the Netherlands to interact with eachother and with those who are not part of these communities.

The main objectives of the platforms are:

Creating a ‘home’ for the various ethnic cultural communities in the Netherlands for as long as these communities do not find enough recognition in mainstream media.

Bringing the latest local and global news on their communities as well as the latest news from their countries of birth or the countries of birth of their parents or grandparents.

Encouraging those who are not part of the respective communities to learn more on these communities, including journalists.

Through the various online discussion platforms, encouraging an exchange of views amongst the members of the various communities as well as with those who do not belong to those communities. As a result, interaction between, for example, Moroccans and non-Morcoccans takes place on a regular basis.

Portal function. Links to the major local and global media relevant for the various communities are included.

Creating a platform for advertisers to reach the various communities and interact with those communities.
